Technical Requirements for MenuMasters Online

About MenuMasters Course Management System

The Culinary Institute of America uses the Moodle Open Source course management system as a platform to provide our MenuMasters online classes.

Browsers

Most web browsers are compatible with Moodle, and include: Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, and Google Chrome.

AOL and Netscape browser are not supported.

Prerequisite computer skills

• ability to access the internet using a web browser
• working knowledge of a word processing program such as Microsoft Word.
• ability to receive and send emails, and upload and download attached documents
• ability to maintain an up to date antispyware and antivirus software

System requirements

Operating system:

• Windows XP/Vista/7
• Mac OSX (or later)
• Linux

Hardware:

• Windows: Pentium IV, or higher
• Macintosh: G4 or higher
• 2 GB RAM memory or higher

Software:

• Microsoft word (or other word processor)
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Powerpoint
• Adobe acrobat
