Owner, Sharlene Nielsen has been in business as Front Door Stories for 10 years as of 2018.

Her company provides a unique service bringing stunning first impressions to the “front door” or entrance to your home, office, wedding, event and garden. Curating garden inspired seasonal material in large scale outdoor container plantings and floral arrangements, with our northern climate in mind.

Her background in display and merchandising for The Hudson Bay Company, while enrolled in Fine Arts at Kwantlen Collage, and working at Art Knapp’s Garden Centre in B.C. brought this prairie girl and mom of two boys, back to her roots here in Manitoba. Opening Front Door Stories in 2008 while freelancing at The Garden Room, and then 3 years at Assiniboine Park in the English Garden. Now focusing on her business full time and opening a boutique style studio space to expand her services.

Award winning floral designer, In 2017 for the Directors choice at the WAG’s

Art in Bloom for her floral interpretation of “View from the artist bedroom,

Jericho Beach”

In 2018 was featured in an article in the Winnipeg Free press, link to article here.
